5. Game of Thrones Season 2 game confirmed, already in development
Yesterday turned out to be a fruitful friday. Kevin Bruner of Telltale games confirmed to Hollywood Reporter that season 2 of the episodic game series Game of Thrones was already under development. No further details were released but it does come as good news to all Game of Thrones fans. The last episode of season 1 was released on November 17th, 2015 so it was surprising to see this announcement come out so soon.
4. Take-Two Interactive tells us why we don’t have a GTA every year
Another positive piece of news this week was Take-Two Interactive’s stand on the annualization of its franchises (via Gamespot). Strauss Zelnik said that they would like to maintain ‘demand and anticipation’ of their games and maintain high quality, none of which can be attained by annualizing the franchises. He further added it is enough for them to ship out a few good quality games every year, irrespective of which franchise the game belongs to. He also mentioned that GTA and Red Dead Redemption as ‘permanent’ franchises but no info on any sequels were given. Read more about his statements here.
It is really good to see developers who take their time with their games. Good job, Take-Two.
3. Sony confirms that PS2 emulation will be coming to the PS4.
According to Wired, Sony has confirmed that they are working on bringing PS2 games to the PS4 using emulation. This comes as great news to Sony fans as the PS2 had seen a truck load of classics and if Sony pulls this off, the PS4’s library will be significantly expanded. No specific dates were given but looks like Sony has already slipped in a few PS2 Star Wars titles in the Star Wars Battlefront PS4 bundle and they look impressive. Let us hope this works out.

2. Beyond Two Souls on the PS4 gets a release date, Heavy Rain to arrive on the PS4 next year
The PlayStation blog reported this week that Beyond Two Souls will be coming out on the PS4 on November 24th, 2015 and that Heavy Rain will follow next year. The games will be graphically enhanced (obviously) and a few highly fan requested features (like the ability to replay Beyond Two Souls in chronological order) have been added. I personally don’t give remasters a second thought but Heavy Rain is an exception. Whats more is that if you buy Beyond Two Souls now, you are entitled to a discount when Heavy Rain comes out. Heavy Rain is worth every penny, but the real question here becomes is Beyond Two Souls worth it?
You can find more details here (at the PlayStation blog).
1. Rumors surface about Resident Evil 6 remaster for the PS4 and the Xbox One
The Korean Game Rating Board published ratings for Resident Evil 6 on both PS4 and Xbox One which might mean that the game could soon be coming out on the current gen consoles (via PlayStation Lifestyle). Capcom hasn’t confirmed this yet. This is another remaster I won’t be giving a second thought about.
